Fast Acting Doors
Industry has demanded faster acting doors to open and close more quickly, to help preserve heat within a building, help reduce costs which in turn will help preserve the environment.
The result is the Fast Action or High Speed Door generally operating at around 1 metre per second travel speed. These doors have been designed on the base principal of a Roller Shutter Door, but which the curtain made from single canvas or plastic based sheet which is wound onto and from a drum at high speed. These are power operated doors only an can have counter balance spring mechanism or a direct motor drive with inverter control. A wide range of colours are available along with transparent vision panels.
This design of door can be susceptible to high winds and are generally not considered as a secure door. For this reason they are normally installed along side a conventional Steel Door if in the external wall of a building, or used as an Internal Door only. Height and width of these doors are usually limited to about 6 metres x 6 metres, because weight of curtain is a limiting factor to High Speed Operation.
